Article Summary

Gradebook Refresh and Replace are used to update enrolled students’ gradebook and the gradebook template, based upon the current definition of the gradebook and associated assignments.   The following will only appear on courses that currently have a gradebook assigned.

Gradebook Refresh

This process will refresh the template and all assignments for all students with the current definition of the gradebook.  Any assignment associated with the gradebook that did not exist in the template of the course and semester, will be added.  Existing assignments and any associated points that still exist in the gradebook will not be affected.   Any assignments that have been made inactive in the gradebook will remain.    Any Ad-Hoc assignments based upon assignments that are now inactive will also remain.   Any change to Permanent Description, Abbreviation, objective, sub-objective, weighting, max points will be made in the students' gradebook and gradebook template for the course.

  1. Navigate to Registrar > Course Finder
  2. Navigate to the course
  3. Select the Course tab
  4. If a gradebook is currently associated with the course the refresh gradebook button will appear below the gradebook.
  5. Click Refresh Gradebook

Gradebook Replace

  1. Navigate to Registrar > Course Finder
  2. Navigate to the course
  3. Select the Course tab
  4. If a gradebook is currently associated with the course the replace gradebook button will appear below the gradebook.
  5. Click Replace Gradebook

Caution

This process will replace the template of the gradebook for this semester and all assignments for a student with the current definition of the gradebook.  Any assignments that have been made inactive in the gradebook will be deleted.  Any Ad-Hoc assignments based upon assignments that are now inactive will also be deleted.  Any change to Permanent Description, Abbreviation, objective, sub-objective, weighting, max points will be made in the students' gradebook and gradebook template for the course.

Gradebook Change

When changing the gradebook associated with a course, the new gradebook must be selected in the replace drop down and a gradebook replace processed.  This will delete the existing gradebook assignments, the template, and will add gradebook assignments to students enrolled in this course and semester.

When adding a gradebook to a course where one did not exist the replace function will automatically be processed, adding the template and all gradebook assignments to enrolled students in this course and semester.
