About Drop Down Menu Options (STParms)

Campus Cafe allows institutions to adjust the options that show in many drop down menus throughout the system. Options that are used in system processes may not be updated. The system will produce an error if such values are attempted to be updated.

Add STParms

To add an option to a drop down, an additional Parameter Value can be added to the STParm that controls the menu.

1. Navigate to Admin > STParm Maintenance
2. In the Parameter Code box enter the Parameter Code
3. In the Parameter Value enter the value. This is an internal code that is not typically displayed to students or applicants
4. Click Add
   Description: A short description of the menu item
   Web Hide: Check to suppress the option from showing on an application; the option will show internally
   Common App Code or Admissions Counselor ID#: For use in the Common Application upload process. Or the admissions advisor's Campus Cafe ID number.
   ISO Country Code: The country abbreviation per the International Organization for Standardization. Used by the National Student Clearinghouse report.
   Long Description: Further text for the menu item
   Delete Code: For use by Campus Cafe programming team
5. Click Save
6. Refresh the cache by navigating to Admin > Refresh Data Cache > reload data

Update STParm

Update the parameter to modify an existing menu option. Note that the Parameter Value may not be updated once the option is created.

1. Navigate to Admin > STParm Maintenance
2. Locate the Parameter Code to edit
3. Click the pencil icon next to the Parameter Code to edit
   Description: A short description of the menu item
   Web Hide: Check to suppress the option from showing on an application; the option will show internally
   Common App Code or Admissions Counselor ID#: For use in the Common Application upload process. Or the admissions advisor's Campus Cafe ID number.
   ISO Country Code: The country abbreviation per the International Organization for Standardization. Used by the National Student Clearinghouse report.

4. Click Save
5. Refresh the cache by navigating to Admin > Refresh Data Cache > reload data

Delete STParm

Only delete an STParm if no historical data is associated with it.

1. Navigate to Admin > STParm Maintenance
2. Locate the Parameter Code to delete
3. Click the red X icon icon next to the Parameter Code to delete
4. Refresh the cache by navigating to Admin > Refresh Data Cache > reload data
