Introduction 

The what if report will apply the student's current academic record to a major and/or catalog (audit) year of your choosing. This is useful if a student is considering changing academic programs and wishes to see how their current work applies to the major under consideration.

Permissions

Whether the user is allowed to select an alternative semester or major is controlled by permissions.

  • 444  (AV) Adds alternate semester and major to allow the user to try testing student's enrollment against an alternate catalog from that in student's current degree. 
  • 489 (AV) NA hides the alternate semester drop down list on the degree audit parameter selection screen.
  • 490 (AV) NA hides the alternate major drop down list on the degree audit parameter selection screen.
  • 1043 (ST) NA hides the alternate semester drop down list on the degree audit parameter selection screen.
  • 1044 (ST) NA hides the alternate major drop down list on the degree audit parameter selection screen.
  • 1051 (ST) Adds alternate semester and major to allow the user to try testing student's enrollment against an alternate catalog from that in student's current degree.

Determining What Alternate Majors to Show

Which majors display on the alternate major drop down is determined by the major setup.

  1. Navigate to Admin > Academic Maintenance > Majors
  2. Next to the major to display, click the pencil icon
  3. Next to Web Deg. Audit Alt. Major check the box
  4. Click Save
