About Core Curriculum GPA

Core Curriculum GPA allows for a separate GPA from the Cumulative GPA. This can provide assistance when considering program requirements that call for a specific Grade Point Average for a specific set of courses within an academic program.

Degree Level and Core Designation Limitations
Only one core GPA can be calculated per degree level.  Students who need multiple Core GPAs should have their programs separated by Degree Level to achieve this outcome.

Similarly, a core course will appear as a core course for anyone who takes that course. To allow students for whom the course is not considered a core course to take the course, but not have a core GPA calculated (or to not have said course affect the student's Core GPA), creating parallel courses, core and non-core, is an effective solution.

Preparatory Steps

  1. Navigate to the STParm settings page (Admin Menu>STParm)
  2. Enter RCCORC into the Parameter Code box, then enter a value into the Parameter Value box, and click "Submit"
  3. Navigate to Custom Control settings (Admin Menu>Custom Control)
