About Grade Control

Grade control allows an institution to set dates in which faculty and advisors may assign grades. Grade control works in conjunction with permissions.

Permissions

The below permissions in the faculty permission module are key to whether the grading scheme and grade control applies to users.

  • 352: when given an NA restriction, user will only be able to enter deficiency grades during the allotted time period
  • 354: by default, the user has access to any deficiency grade defined in quality points file. Assigning NA restriction will force the user to only use grades flagged as usable by faculty.
  • 353: assigning an NA restriction will only allow user to enter an initial deficiency grade. Once a grade is set it cannot be changed again by the user.
  • 362: enter deficiency grades for another faculty’s class
  • 278: when given an NA restriction, user will only be able to enter final grades during allocated time period
  • 317: by default, the user can use any final grade defined in quality points file. Assigning NA restriction will force the user to use grades flagged as usable by faculty
  • 316: assigning an NA restriction will only allow user to enter a final initial grade. Once a grade is set it cannot be changed again by the user.
  • 361: enter final grades for another faculty’s class
  • 771: when given an NA restriction, user will only be able to enter year-long grades during allotted time period (defined in web grade control)
  • 773: by default, the user can use any year-long grade defined in quality points file. Assigning NA restriction will force the user to use grades flagged as usable by faculty.
  • 772: assigning an NA restriction will only allow user to enter an initial year-long grade. Once a grade is set it cannot be changed again by the user.
  • 770: enter year-long grades for another faculty’s class

Set Grade Control

  1. Navigate to Registrar > Grade Control
  2. Click Add
  3. Enter the semester code
  4. If applicable, enter the sub-semester
  5. Choose the grade type, Deficiency, Final or Year
  6. Choose the user type, Faculty or Advisors
  7. Start Date is the first date the group may enter grades
  8. End date is the last date the group may enter grades
  9. Click Save
