Readying for New Semester

The below outlines a broad approach to preparing for a new semester. Your institution may refer to the period of time as a term, semester, quarter or similar phrase.
The below tasks should normally be done in the order presented below. The list is not all inclusive but includes key tasks.
- Create new semester descriptions in STParm. (Detailed directions)
- Set the semester start, end and refund dates along with credit thresholds and other details in semester dates maintenance. (Detailed directions)
- Configure registration control to set the dates in which registration can occur and the rules around registration such as credit limits. (Detailed directions)
- Configure grade control to set the dates in which instructors may enter course grades. (Detailed directions)
- Schedule courses by either scheduling courses individually or copying a prior course schedule and adjusting as necessary. (Detailed directions)
- Configure billing rules by establishing new billing rules for the semester or copying them from a prior semester and adjusting as necessary. (Detailed directions)
