Set up Schools

About Schools

The schools module in Campus Cafe stores information about secondary and higher education institutions. The list is used by the admissions module to populate prior schools attended by an applicant. It is also used by the registrar module as the school source for transfer credit.

The list of institutions delivered with Campus Cafe is from the College Board. The list is not refreshed with upgrades, however, schools may contact the College Board directly for an updated list.

Access/Edit Schools

1. Navigate to Admissions > Schools
2. Set the desired criteria
3. Click Submit
4. To edit a school click the pencil icon next to the school
   Name: The formal name of the institution
   Name For Sorting: A short name for the institution that will be used in the school search function
   School ID: A unique number to identify the institution. Leave -1 to have the system assign the next available number
   IPEDS ID: The number assigned to the institution by the U.S. Department of Education's Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System
   Address: The main address for the institution; used in the school search function
   Contact: The contact at the institution
   Type: A way of categorizing the institution (e.g. private, public, et.c) Options set in STParm ASTYPE
   Codes: Customizable codes to associate with the institution. Options set in STParm ASCONS
   Quantities to Send: Tracks the number of printed marketing materials to send the institution
5. Click Save

Add School

1. Navigate to Admissions > Schools
2. Click Add New School
   Name: The formal name of the institution
   Name For Sorting: A short name for the institution that will be used in the school search function
   School ID: Leave -1 to have the system assign the next available number
   Address: The main address for the institution; used in the school search function
   Contact: The contact at the institution
   Codes: Customizable codes to associate with the institution. Options set in STParm ASCONS
   Quantities to Send: Tracks the number of printed marketing materials to send the institution
3. Click Save
