About Required Tests/Scores

As part of an application for admission an institution may require scores from tests such as the SAT or ACT. Tests required are set by academic program (major) and may be displayed to the applicant. Test scores may then be recorded within Campus Cafe.

Test scores may also be used as a pre-requisite for enrollment in a course.

Configure Tests

Each test can contain its own set of scores and if the student repeats a test each score can be recorded.

Add a Test

  1. Navigate to Admin > Score Headers
  2. Click New Score Header
Type: The overall test. For example AP for Advanced Placement
Score Name: The test component or, if a composite score, the field that represents the total test score of all components. For example, the History AP test or an SAT composite score.
Input Order: The order in which the test appears on the student's score input page
Master Flag: Check to indicate that this test will control the score type (letter, numeric or letter and numeric) of all tests of this type
PreReq Usage: Check to indicate that score can be used as a requirement to enroll in a course
  3. Click Create

Additional Options

Once created, additional configuration may be made through checking or unchecking boxes next to the test.

Input Order: The order in which the test appears on the student's score input page
Master Auto Calc Total Off: Check to disable the system from summing all tests with the same type and displaying a summary row
Master Disable Use: Check to inactivate the test, which will stop its ability to be attached to a student on the student scores page. Previously recorded scores for the test will remain visible on the student scores page.
Disable Self Reported Fields:
Auto Fill Official Date: Check to indicate that the official date of the scores should be automatically populated with the date they are entered into Campus Cafe.
PreReq Usage: Check to indicate that score can be used as a requirement to enroll in a course
Score is Alpha: Check to indicate the test score result is returned as letter(s)or a mix or letters and numbers. For example, A, B4, C140. If checked, Score is Integer and Score is Decimal must be unchecked. Note the maximum length for a score is 5 characters.
Score is Decimal: Check to indicate the test score result is returned as a number with places after the decimal. For example, 10.5, 111.75, 3.14. If checked, Score is Alpha and Score is Integer must be unchecked. Note the maximum length for a score including the decimal is 6 characters.
Score is Integer: Check to indicate the test score result is returned as a whole number. For example, 1600, 1200, 1050. If checked, Score is Alpha and Score is Decimal must be unchecked. Note the maximum length for a score is 5 characters.
